Privacy Policy (English)

Skippy helps you prepare for the Israeli maritime (רספ״ן) theory exams. We collect only what's needed to run and improve the service.

What we collect: account details — your email address and name (from Apple or Google, depending on how you sign in) — for sign-in and account identification; your study progress — answers and exam attempts — to save progress and sync across devices; and usage & diagnostics data — in-app usage events (e.g. which screens are viewed) and crash reports — to improve stability and the experience. Usage/diagnostics data is linked to your account but is not used for advertising tracking and is not shared with ad networks. We do not collect location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and we run no cross-app tracking.

Phone number (optional): only if you choose to leave it during onboarding. We use it to contact you about the app, and we never pass it to anyone else. If you also ticked the updates checkbox, we may occasionally send you Skippy news and offers — these are two separate consents, and you can withdraw the second at any time by contacting us. The number is deleted when you delete your account.

Session replay: to understand where people get stuck and to find bugs, we may record your journey through the app (the sequence of screens and actions) via PostHog. Text inputs and images are masked automatically in the recording, and recording is limited to Skippy’s own screens — it cannot see other apps or the rest of your device. We can switch recording off at any time.

How we use it: to provide the service — save and sync your progress — and to improve app stability and the user experience. A phone number, if you gave one, is used to contact you about the app, and for updates only if you explicitly opted in.

Sharing: your data is stored with Supabase (database + auth). Sign-in happens with Apple or Google, per your choice. For usage analytics and stability we use PostHog (analytics, EU servers) and Sentry (crash reporting, EU). We do not sell your data or share it for marketing.

Retention & deletion: data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account and all data at any time from within the app (Profile → "Delete account"), which permanently erases your details, your phone number and your progress from our servers and your device. Usage analytics and session recordings held by PostHog are not deleted automatically with the account — you can request their deletion at any time by contacting us.
